Evening of Beauty

left image
My girlfriends and I got together the other night with Toni Burink, Senior Sales Director, Mary Kay, for an "Evening of Beauty". We were celebrating a birthday and what better way to celebrate than with a quiet evening away from it all with good friends, good food and an expert in the field of skin eager to make us feel beautiful?

This was not your "Mother's Mary Kay" consultation. When I typically think of a skin care consultation, I get a little antsy and feel like I am going to have to buy something and/or I am going to get hooked into hosting future parties and all the event will entail will be a sales pitch by the pushy sales person which results in me buying products that I don't want and won't use. Not the case at all. Toni was professional, personable, knowledgeable and made each of us feel special that night.

Along with learning about all the fabulous products that Mary Kay has to offer, Toni made sure that we understood how the products we were sampling worked for our skin and how each of those products would help us work on our 'problem' areas. After our skin was clean, soft and prepared for the next step, we dove into all of the fun make-up Toni brought along for us to sample. From foundation to lip color, Toni helped us pick out what colors were best for our types of faces and then showed us how to apply it all correctly. So fun.

It really is a wonderful way to get a couple of girlfriends together and get away from the day to day grind of life. If you would like to schedule your own "Evening of Beauty" with Toni, email her today. Did I mention the consultation is FREE? You really have nothing to loose!

Book Review

The Leprechaun in the Basement

left image

by Kathy Tucker

For ages 5 and older this book is a fun story ending in a good lesson about greed.   Micheal McKeaver finds himself down on his luck as he loves baseball and needs a new pair of sneakers, but his father just lost his job.  Micheal also finds himself a leprechaun in his basement along with a pot of gold.  The story twists and turns quicker than the pages.  All works out well in the end, but not without a good lesson learned.
